In a recent press release, the BSA announced that BSA Racing’s Scott Lagasse, Jr., took 8th place in a race for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) while driving the STEM Scouts Chevrolet truck. The STEM Scouts program focuses on giving scouts innovative, fun ways to explore science, technology, engineering, and math at a time when STEM-related careers are growing.
After the recent race, Scott Lagasse, Jr., met with scouts from the STEM Scouts program to explain the science involved in the race. He also answered numerous follow-up questions from inquisitive scouts about the technical aspects of the race. At one point, Lagasse explained to the scouts why he lost speed when his rear tire didn’t maintain its grip during a turn.
